Pear Deck: An useful platform for exam?

Pear Deck is a presentation stage that serves the teacher to collect students' responses in a live session to improve student comprehension. Teachers and students need to use their Google accounts to create and do the activity through Pear Deck. When teachers and students start to do the activity through this platform, they need to extend their account in google slides to be injected by Pear Deck. After that, they can create and do the activity. There are many advantages and disadvantages of Pear Deck but only the vital issues are presented in this article. One of the common plus points of this platform is the theme with a colorful design. The color of this platform is very interesting. Also, the cute image like a pear represents how the learning will be more engaging. Other than that, the features of Pear Deck are also out-of-the-box. They give the teacher a lot of interesting templates to start the learning activity. The template itself can give the teacher total freedom to decide the proportion of questions. It can be divided into "Low Order Thinking Skills" and "High Order Thinking Skills". So in the same way, students can also learn not only from one side but also the two sides of how they answer the questions. The disadvantage of using this app is the lack of security when it will be used as an online or offline exam. Because this is a public platform so students can easily change their answers when it comes to the discussion part. So pear deck is not a good platform to be used in the exam. The additional drawback is the lack of audio saving. Students may only listen to the audio in the real-time quiz, but it can't be saved or downloaded as an offline file.

To sum up, Pear Deck is a wonderful platform to present learning become more interesting. Students in junior until senior high school are the ones that are suitable for using this platform. Students in this stage may already improve the way how they think about something. They begin to think more logically than students in elementary school. The material that can be given is probably the medium to high level since this platform is more suitable for junior and senior high school students.

Finally, this kind of applications and web pages are very beneficial for users especially teachers and students to make innovations to improve English learning progress to become more engaging. Despite many advantages, users may face the disadvantages of applications or web pages. Users especially teachers may choose the appropriate applications based on the specific learning activities. Students can also use these applications to develop their English skills. That's all for the applications and web pages that are very useful for teachers and students. Stay tuned for the next applications and web pages! Thank you.

  1. Pear deck- The author has written an amount of information about Pear deck. He has cited the pros and cons of Pear deck as well as their benefits, functions and uses. However, I think there are some grammatical errors. For example, “an useful platform for exam?”. He could have written “A useful platform for the exam” using the correct article. The flow of the ideas is not so clear as well. For the appearance, I can say that it is very colorful, yet masculine. It is fine, though. However, the color is not too friendly for all, especially the orange font. The font’s sizes vary as well. It is fine but a bit disorderly looking. Maybe the paragraphs can be indented as well to clarify the change of ideas. Lastly, Billy can use a more systematic way of putting things like numbering the pros and cons and adding more graphics that will make the page more attractive.
