Quizizz: An interactive application for teaching and learning?

The younger generation in this modern era wants something instant. They often read school material on the internet. The main reason is that it is more practical and faster to access. One of them is a webpage called Quizizz. This online web is widely used by teachers and students to access assignments, exams, and materials. There are many advantages to this website. One of the advantages that most users feel is that it is free to use. Both teachers and students do not need to pay in advance when they want to make or answer questions. Another advantage is Quizizz's ability to easily integrate with Google Classroom. So through google classroom, teachers can easily create questions and check student answers during online exams. Features that Quzziz gives when making questions are also very lit. There are lots of forms such as multiple-choice, fill-in-the-blank, draw, short, long answers, etc. This can improve students thinking from the low-order thinking skill (LOTS) to the high order thinking skill (HOTS). So, besides they do the assignments, students also improve their critical thinking ability.

However, with the above advantages, there are disadvantages when using this webpage. One weakness that looks glaring is that the timer setting will answer the questions. Sometimes at any time, the given timer cannot be turned off so many students use it to get more points. The next drawback is the large role of technology in accessing this online web. This should be looked at carefully because not all regions have access to good technology and the internet.

How to use Quizziz:

1. Go to www.quizizz.com and log in to one of your Google accounts

2. Once you be able to access the website you will ask to fill in the location/ city where you stay.

3. Then click, "Create" to make your quizzes or home assignments.

4. If you want to use an existing quiz you can click the "Search for Quizzes" box and browse.

5. Then name the quiz or home assignment with the appropriate subject of material.

6. Make questions in a suitable form. You can select the form multiple-choice, reorder, match, and fill in the blank for the assessment question. You can also select the questions of high-order thinking skills by using the form of a draw, open-ended, video, and audio response.

7. After making questions, you need to decide the right and wrong answers to each question. By clicking the "incorrect" and "correct" options.

8. Hit "Finish" in the top right corner.

9. Then select the appropriate grades and select "play live" if you want to make real-time quizzes or "homework" for home assignments.

10. Students can enter the real-time quiz or homework by typing www.quizizz.com/join with the correct 6-digit code.

11. After the students finished the task, refresh your page and you will be able to see the quiz result.

Quizziz is designed for students with low to high level competency. This is because Quizizz can make varieties of questions.  Finally, this webpage is very easy to access for students and teachers because it is free to use and has an attractive web interface. But apart from these advantages, some weaknesses are often encountered by users.

Comments

  1. Quizizz- I have the same comments like that for pear deck with regard to language, ideas, and aesthetics. However, there are some points that I want to applaud and to criticize a bit. To start with, it is good that Billy has changed his style in writing the pros and cons by numbering them. It is clearer for the readers. However, he can make the appearance better by observing proper spacing, margins, fonts, and colors. Another thing is that Billy can write an additional introduction and concluding lines especially for the readers like asking them how they are in the beginning, and wishing them luck in the end, and things like that. This way, he can attract more readers for his blog.

Wordwall: Is it useful for language teaching? Wordwall  is a literacy tool that includes words that are displayed in big visible letters on a wall, bulletin board, or other display surfaces in a classroom. It's designed to make learning progress become more interactive and improve students' interaction while understanding the material in the classroom. Access to create and answer questions is very easy for both teachers and students when opening the Wordwall. Many advantages can be acquired when we enter this application. The vital advantage is saving teachers' preparation time. Wordwall facilitates teachers with useful templates that can be used to save their time before teaching students. Teachers only insert words or pictures in the appropriate template. Not only good for teachers, but students can also become more engaged while accessing this app. The whiteboard seems to be useless while students use Wordwall. This opinion is quite logical because Wordwall can be a su
